Getting to the conference venue
You can easily get to the Campus by public busses number
- 61 (direction 'Rungholtplatz, Suchsdorf')
- 62 (direction 'Woltersweg, Projensdorf')
- 81/82 (direction 'Botanischer Garten')
- 91 (direction 'MAK Friedrichsort')
- 92 (direction 'Wik, Herthstr.'; only Sundays)
The bus stop at the campus is 'Universitaet' or 'Westring/Universitaet'. Travel time from central station to the campus is around 15-20 minutes.
Buses run daily from early morning to late night. A single ticket costs 2.30 €. You can pay cash on the bus. You can also buy a multi-journey ticket for 6 journeys at the price of 12.00 € or a weekly ticket at the price of 17.80 € which is valid for 7 successive days. They are available at the KVG Service Centre at the central station and the tourist information Kiel (Andreas-Gayk-Straße) or can be bought from a machine at the central station.

Travel to Kiel
You can reach Kiel by plane, by train, by ferry, or by car.
By plane
At the moment, there is no possibility to travel to Kiel by plane directly,
but the airport Hamburg-Fuhlsbuettel is only one hour by car from Kiel.
From Hamburg airport, there is a bus going to Kiel once every hour, the "Kielius" bus,
operated by the "Autokraft Verkehrsbetriebe". Travel time is approximately 90 minutes.

We recommend to by a roundtrip "Kielius Kombi Karte (Kombi-Tarif City)", i.e. an expanded taxi service,
which includes the bus transport to and from the airport and a taxi to and from your destination in Kiel,
e.g. the hotel. Tickets can be bought from the bus driver. Credit cards are not accepted,
so make sure you have ready money.
At Hamburg airport, the 'Kielius' stops in front of terminal 1, see map. Kiel is the final destination of the "Kielius", the bus stop (ZOB) is located close to the central station.
Alternatively, you can take the suburban train from the airport to Hamburg central railway station and continue to Kiel by train.
By car
From the south:
Drive in northern direction till Hamburg
Follow the highway A7 in northern direction
At the motorway junction "Bordesholm" take the highway A215 to Kiel
At the end of highway A215 follow the signs "Universitaet"
From the north:
Follow the highway A7 in northern direction
At the motorway junction "Rendsburg" take highway A210 to Kiel,
continue to A215 and follow the signs "Universitaet"
The campus is only accessible by car for persons with a special permit. Please park your car on the parking site (free of charge), which is accessible from ‘Westring’, see map.

By train
Kiel is connected to the ICE-Net of the Deutsche Bahn AG. You can find their schedule here. You will arrive at Kiel central railway station and find the main bus station and taxis in front of the railway station building.
By ferry
You can reach Kiel from the Baltic sea by ferry
